About The Lamai Samui The Lamai Samui is an incredibly distinct luxury resort located on the east coast of Koh Samui along Lamai Beach. Its unique design and construction meticulously follows the sacred principles of Feng Shui and delicately balances the five elements of nature – wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The influences can be seen throughout the property, incorporated in the breathtaking entrance and through an impressive collection of antiques and traditional decorations. The Feng Shui elements combined with its seaside position creates an ethereal ambiance and encourages a sense of peace and harmony for you and your guests. What we love: The resort is located in a very private stretch of beach with beautiful ocean views. Away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, this resort is also conveniently located only 20 minutes from the airport. The incredibly unique Ocean Pier is one-of-a-kind. The vast floating platform reaches out 224 metres from the shore and accommodates both ceremonies and receptions. It can be creatively decorated any number of ways, and is perfectly placed for a spectacular celebration surrounded by clear blue waters. Every evening, weather permitting, The Lamai Samui hosts a sound and light show in their amazing lobby which begins with a traditional lantern ceremony, with thousands of tiny stars in the shallow pond fascinatingly illuminated using fibre optics. It concludes then with the lighting of traditional fire lanterns, given to each guest. This ritual encourages a connectedness between the resort and the guests, and even the guests themselves as you all cast your dreams over into the night skies. The guest suites and private villas at The Lamai Samui are luxurious and incorporate balanced Feng Shui principles. In particular we recommend the Beachfront Villas, where your views are embellished with limitless views that fade into the horizon and the morning sunrise. As part of the arrival experience, The Lamai Samui features “The Sampan’s Diary,” a beautiful custom artwork at its entrance. The multi-dimensional piece is a poem painted with Chinese characters on cobblestones which tells the story of a Chinese migrant’s journey to a faraway land. The sacred principles of Feng Shui have been applied throughout this resort from design to construction, offering a different experience for you and your guests. Things you should know: To secure event space more than four (4) weeks prior to the your event, The Lamai Samui requests a minimum room night guarantee of ten (10) rooms per night, for a minimum three (3) consecutive nights at the quoted “group” rates before the availability of event space can be confirmed. Paper lanterns are not longer allowed in Koh Samui. Minimum of 10 people for food, drink and wedding package prices to be valid. The option to have a ceremony here and reception elsewhere is available. However The Ocean Pier ceremony location is exclusively reserved for The Lamai Samui guests only. Official legal ceremonies are allowed here. No loud noise/dancing music is permitted after 22:00. The resort reserves the right to adjust the volume at anytime if it deems to be too disturbing for surrounding areas and guests.

Ceremony Locations Ocean Pier Max. 100 guests If you are looking for an out of the ordinary wedding experience that provides stunning 360 degree views of tropical waters, then The Lamai Samui’s Ocean Pier is a must see. Stretching 224 metres out into the ocean, this unique pier will have your guests literally floating over the gulf of Thailand as you tie the knot and dine together under the stars. Surrounded by calm sea with views of the beach and islands, you will create a lifetime of memories amongst friends and family. The Lawn Max. 100 guests The immaculately maintained Garden flows from the lobby to the beach though the centre of the resort. Its symmetry is in its design, created by tall palms that line the rectangular lawn which evokes a feeling of balance and harmony as you pass through. Ideal for a small to medium sized group, you and your guests will no doubt enjoy the natural and relaxed atmosphere here. What we love: This is the only truly functional, on-the-pier wedding venue we have seen. Not only is the platform wide, it is also stable offering an amazingly distinct and unique wedding experience. The Ocean Pier gives you an over-the-water 360 degree view of the island, ocean and beach. It truly surrounds you with every aspect that makes Koh Samui famous. Being up to 224 metres out into the ocean, the ambiance here is especially tranquil, serene and intimate not to mention private. This unique space has been designed with a phenomenal amount of space, accommodating groups of up to 100 people. What we love: The level space in the Lawn is simple and functional, where the full length of the garden can be used as a gorgeous bridal walkway. The spacious environment here is balanced and relaxing, utilised daily for The Lamai Samui’s complimentary yoga classes. The villa accommodation for you to prepare is nearby, allowing you to quickly and easily get to the ceremony with minimal fuss. It is also conveniently located next to the lobby and Latest Recipe restaurant, making it easier for your guests to get around. Things you should know: There are no railings to protect your guests from an uninvited dip, therefore children must be supervised at all times. Things you should know: The Lawn is not completely private, being situated along the main walkway from the lobby to the main guests areas. It is also close to some guest accommodation, however tall grass hedges help to increase privacy.

Pool Deck Max. 100 guests Party until 10:30 PM The Pool Side is a timber deck area, located in front of the Latest Recipe restaurant besides the infinity pool. By day, this area is used for in-house guests to relax and let loose. However each evening, it transforms into a versatile alfresco space under the stars, away from the restaurant crowds. Here, you can celebrate in front of the pool, with beautiful views of the beach and ocean – a perfect option for those wanting the charm of the calm beach without worrying about the sand. What we love: This is the only on-the-pier venue that we have seen and offers a truly distinct and unique wedding experience. The Ocean Pier has been designed with a phenomenal amount of space, accommodating groups up to 100 people. Besides the centre platform, a smaller platform is available further out, offering more intimacy. The level of privacy, intimacy and romance of the Ocean Pier increases in the evening – as the light from setting sun is slowly replaced by soft lighting and the moon. The Ocean Pier gives you an over-the-water 360 degree view of the island, ocean and beach. It truly surrounds you with every aspect that makes Koh Samui famous. Your guests will love celebrating on this exceptional dance floor, coming complete with a DJ area. What we love: The level space in the Lawn is simple and functional, where the full length of the garden can be used as a gorgeous bridal walkway. Much of the furniture here including the sunbeds can be removed, creating a wide, open and functional space for you. The view of the illuminated Ocean Pier at night is a wonder, and becomes a beautiful backdrop for you to behold. The timber in the deck here symbolises the natural wood element, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Centrally located, and easily accessed by you and your guests.
